Fall is the perfect time to experiment with new trends and colors, and take your basic look to the next level. Deep berry and wine colored lipsticks and loose waves are the perfect way to do that. Dark lipstick shades immediately make any look more dramatic and sophisticated, and waves add a look of ease and effortless. This Fashionista showed me how she creates her timeless look.
One of the best things about lipstick is that there is a shade to complement every skin tone. This Fashionista chose a deep mauve shade to enhance her skin tone and bring out the blue in her eyes. Because her outfit is very neutral, the lipstick adds the just right amount of color. It creates an element of boldness. This Fashionista told me, “I love wearing dark lipstick. It makes me feel sophisticated and confident.”
This Fashionista decided to finish off her look with loose waves that complement her long, blonde hair. She achieved this look by using a small curling iron which made tight curls. She told me the reason for doing this was “to make the curls tighter so that they would hold longer.” I especially liked this approach because as the curls relaxed, they created gorgeous waves. This Fashionista also explained to me that she likes this hairstyle because it is great for days when she needs to be more dressed up, but does not want to look overdone. It also takes only a few minutes and lasts all day!
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To create this look, this Fashionista used Unique 956 by Dior lipstick and a 1/2 inch curling iron by Hot Tools. She also added volume by teasing her hair at the crown of her head and sporadically throughout the rest of her hair. She finished with Redken Triple Take 32 Hairspray.
