BEAUTY BAR: Beach Babe

When in doubt, take Beyoncé’s advice—wake up naturally flawless! The natural look always seems to be in for the summer. Simplicity goes a long way when it is styled correctly, and less seems to always be more. This does not only apply to clothing, however. It also applies to hairstyles. Refrain from using any heat (trust me, the sun’s heat adds damage, too). Try to work with your natural hair texture to create tousled, messy hair. As much as you might want to put your hair in a ponytail or a bun, refrain from doing so. Instead, let it do its thing. Give your hair a break by letting your natural hair breathe. Any Fashionista/o can easily pull off this perfectly arranged disarrangement.

I find it very convenient that you can simply walk out of your home without taking an hour on your hair. The best part is that you don’t have to give an explanation for the messy hair. Everyone understands that it is summer and that that’s the reason you are gloriously rocking beach waves.

This hairstyle will always work in the summer because most outfits worn during this time are breezy and fresh. Natural hairstyles tend to complement the seasonal styles. Beachy waves go with any outfit, except for turtlenecks, but who wears those in the summer? This hairstyle will go with a dress, a jumper and any other top. This low maintenance hair-do will allow you to enjoy your summer, saving you time and effort.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To recreate this easy hairstyle, you will need to apply any kind of texturing spray, whether it’s sea salt spray, volumizing mousse or heat protectant if you already have textured hair. If you do need that extra boost of volume or texture, I recommend that you use a diffuser when you are drying your hair. This will dry your hair while adding those infamous beachy waves. If you prefer to not use heat, braiding your hair and leaving it in overnight will work just fine.
