Every New Year some people get excited to read about their horoscopes or to write down new resolutions, but when it comes to us, the Fashionistas around the world, we look forward to the new color trends.
Blue has always been there on top of every year’s list, and this year it is coming in two very different shades: the dusk blue and monaco blue. The dusk blue is a lighter color, inspired by water, compared to the deeper, more powerful monaco blue.
I spotted this week’s Fashionista as she was heading to a brunch with her girlfriends on a Saturday morning–the perfect getaway we dream of every morning during classes. I was very impressed by how well she managed to mix the two new shades of blue in one outfit. She was wearing a tie-printed pants, white chiffon shirt and carrying the gorgeous Leghilà bag. She had glittery blue shoes and blue Casio digital watch. This Fashionista is a master in balancing a matchy-matchy outfit.
When it comes to accessories, these two trendy shades should be a focal point of your outfit. For example, invest in a serious eye-catching statement blue necklace like this one from Lanvin. Many designers have been inspired by the blue craze; Sophie Hulme came up with the perfect boxy tote in dusk blue.
