Dressing up for a full day out, running errands in the morning, late afternoon classes and going out with your girlfriends in the evening is a bit hard. You need this easy, comfy yet fashionable outfit that can get you through the day looking as good as possible. The secret is a statement scarf!
I was not very fond of scarves until recently. As a hijabi, it was always enough for me to wear my headscarf. But being a fan of basics got me looking for that particular statement accessory that can turn my outfits up a notch and the famous Alexander McQueen skulls printed scarf was the reason that changed my mind.
Couple of afternoons ago, I spotted this amazing Annada scarf “which is simply a piece of artwork by a local artist printed on silk” on this week’s Fashionista. The scarf was an eye-catching and a must featured item! She paired it with a grey shirt and red pants to block the colors and accessorized her look with a crossbody Chanel bag, some Tods loafers and a collection of arm jewelries. A chic casual with a statement accessory look indeed!
I think the very cool thing about the scarf trend is that it is not seasonal. You can wear a summery scarf with a T-shirt and shorts in the middle of July or you can wrap a furry one around your neck in winter. It also gives you the opportunity to dress up naturally as it takes all the spotlight of the outfit.
Scarves come in different shapes, textures and patterns. I personally like the printed cashmere long ones. They are easier to wrap, never out of style and go well with almost everything in my closet!
