Band T-shirts are one of those closet staples that never seem to go out of style. Chances are even your parents rocked a band tee back in the day. They’re pretty much timeless.
Wearing a band T-shirt doesn’t mean you have to look sloppy or overly casual though. A band T-shirt can be a fun piece to incorporate in a variety of different outfits. This Fashionista chose to pair her T. Rex band tee with her crazy metallic Frankie B. Jeans. The band tee helps to tone down these pants and make them look daytime appropriate. This Fashionista takes her rocker look one step further by adding a pair of studded lace up shoes, a UNIF faux leather jacket, and a studded crossbody bag. Rocker chic at its finest.
However, if you don’t want to entirely commit to the rocker look, you can tuck your band T-shirt into a circle skirt or under a pair of denim overalls. Band T-shirts don’t only have to be used for dressing down outfits. A band T-shirt can also be worn for nights out to bars, clubs, or even concerts by pairing it with metallic jeans (like this Fashionista’s), or a sequined skirt and a pair of fun heels.
Another great thing about band T-shirts is that there is such a variety out there. Brands like Trunk and Forever 21 have great cheap options. Florence + the Machine, The Rolling Stones and Eminem — the choice of band T-shirts is practically unlimited!
Band T-shirts can also be great conversation starters, but my greatest advice of this week is to make sure you know songs by the band you’re wearing! There is nothing more awkward than not be able to name a single Led Zeppelin song while wearing a Led Zeppelin shirt. Not even your cool band shirt will be able to redeem you.
