Hey there, my name is Manuela Almeida and I am a senior at University Anhembi Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil. I major in Journalism, and besides being a Style Guru, I am a fashion reporter for Grupo Joyce Pascowitch. During my free time I hang out at Starbucks, watch American T.V. series and keep up with important news via The Economist.
I am proud to say that I have been writing for CollegeFashionista for two years now. My journey began in Rio de Janeiro, where I was a Style Guru for Pontifícia Universidade Católica. You would think that after 24 months of writing about college fashion I would have nothing left to say, right? Surprisingly, that is not the case. Whether it is an eye-catching accessory or a new way to use a piece of clothing, I am always observing trend-setting Fashionistas/os on campus.
Although I live and breathe fashion, my outfits are always basic. I love talking and writing about the style industry, but I do not feel I have to dress a la The Devil Wears Prada— at least for now. With that said, I am always prioritizing classic pieces such as jeans, leather jackets and plain T-shirts. My go-to accessories are rings in all shapes and sizes and when I feel nostalgic, my old Return to Tiffany & Co. chain necklace.
This semester I will be writing once more for the column STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK. I hope to inspire your wardrobe one Monday at a time. Be sure to comment and give your opinion in the posts!
