Alaina McGinley

Hello Fellow Fashionistas, My name's Alaina Marie, I am 18, living in Philadelphia, PA. I love the arts, fashion, being social and sharing my voice. I've been awarded the "Social Media Excellence" award by Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital for the year of 2015 for my efforts and work with Pennridge High School's Mini-THON benefitting children with pediatric cancer. In the future I'd like to manage social media communications for fashion icons or be a comedian (I just really love Amy Schumer). Social media has been a huge interest for me from the start and I am very passionate about connecting people and fashion through such a broad and unique platform. Some examples of icons that have inspired me are Taylor Swift, Audrey Hepburn, and Kate Middleton. I love the classics that showcase the independent woman. To me, simplicity is key and neutrals are my best friend. Disclaimer: I am always wearing maroon. Since I've moved to the city, it has influenced my fashion sense and expanded my creative outlook on style. Being given this opportunity through this internship to express myself and my sense of style is something I am very grateful for and I believe that it will be a stepping stone into my future fashion career. I also strive to be as current as possible and I hope to continue doing what I love as an official College Fashionista Style Guru.
