The wedding of Kate and William definitely turned this season's fashion to the hats. Hats of all shapes and sizes are being seen more often, even on college students our age. I am Jewish, so when I think of hats I think, of married women because married women are supposed to cover their hair. But now most people turn to barrettes and hats as a fashion statement. As spotted by Jean Paul Gaultier, big fur hats are out to make a statement.
This Fashionista knows how to use her fur hat to her advantage. Her blond hair sticks out neatly from either side and shows us that she isn’t just using this hat to cover up a bad hair day but that it is an actual accessory.
Her all black ensemble (besides the jeans) kind of resembles that of a superhero’s uniform. Her black boots are sexy yet simple enough to be considered every day boots, and her black belt reminds me of a superhero power belt. Now, that might sound silly, but honestly I wouldn’t mind having a power belt of my own to wear as an accessory to my nonchalant daily outfits.
I adore the superhero style, which is why I own a golden cuff. Cuff bracelets are also in this season and can be found in many different styles. Leather cuffs by Marc Jacobs and Hermès are all the fuss. Try styling your own superhero look by pairing a slimming pair of jeans with a basic shirt and adding accessories that are big and chunky. Costume jewelry wasn’t only for the '60s, it’s a big part of making your outfit come alive.
Try pairing a fun warm hat for the winter season with a funky set of jewelry to spice up your plain and simple look.
