I reconnected with a former classmate after seeing her at Fashion Haus, a fashion club we have here at SCAD. What surprised me about this Fashionista was her major, painting. She said,”Yeah I am [a painting major]. I love it! I just can’t see myself not painting. I can see myself just enjoying fashion or minoring in it but I think I’d be so much happier painting. It’s something I can do till I die and live the life I want and do it.” I playfully retorted by saying that she was a hippie. She replied, “Pretty much. Ha ha I’m a gypsy. I can’t help myself!”

CollegeFashionista: When did first realize what your personal style was? How would you describe it?
Raven Brown: I was in high school when I really found my style. I think I was a junior. I’d say I’m boho chic with a little edge.
CF: If you could switch wardobes with any celebrity who would it be and why?
RB: I don’t know if I can choose one! I love Vanessa Hudgen’s style, but also Kourtney Kardashian, Nicole Richie and Miley Cyrus.
CF: What fashionable item are you coveting right now?
RB: Vintage jewelry, wide leg pants, jumpsuits and rompers are always on my mind. And of course, shoes! Steve Madden specifically.
