Dressing for midterm and finals week is always a task. How do be a Fashionista when you haven't slept, little alone thought about your clothes? Comfort, simplicity and style don't always go hand in hand, but this Fashionisto takes on midterms in a carefree military-grunge ensemble. Much of what he is wearing, including his heather gray oversized knit, are hand-me-downs from older siblings or something he saved from the past. He pulls off baggy camouflage cargos tucked into a worn pair of Converse, thus creating the perfect exam ensemble.

CollegeFashionista: How has being a dance instructor inspired your wardrobe?
Larry Rosalez-Lewis: Dance has inspired me in terms of function. My wardrobe was not something I could just go right into dance with before so I changed that. I like to find things that will function with my life without just wearing sweatpants and a wife-beater everyday.
CF: What are a couple pieces that you will not leave your dorm without when packing for spring break?
LR: My polo boots, my camo pants and my oversized tanks.
CF: Who would you thank in terms of being an inspiration to your campus fashion?
LR: My parents. They were both in the military and I consider myself very inspired by military style.
How To: To create your own go-to carefree outfit, take a tip from Larry and use old odds and ends that are significant from your past or matter to your future. Add these little DIY embellishments to something simple and comfy. You can never go wrong with a pair of Converse, so if you haven't got any, you can design your own custom pair here.
