AROUND TOWN: The Preppy Games

The Preppy Games were hosted by Alpha Delta Pi on a beautiful day. Guests at this event had to dress their preppiest and play games like corn hole, bocce ball, Kan jam and my personal favorite, pin the bow tie on the frat boy. People wore salmon colored shorts, Lilly Pulitzer dresses and Vineyard Vines sweatshirts. Everyone looked their best, and there was a best dressed award at the end of it all. Allison Lagassie, who is the community service chair for Alpha Delta Pi helped plan this amazing event. All of the money that was raised went to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

CollegeFashionista: What is your idea of preppy?

Allison Lagassie: To me, being preppy is wearing a classy and timeless outfits comprised of today’s designer brands and accessories. When I think preppy, I think Jackie Kennedy or Blair Waldorf.

CF: What made you come up with this event?

AL: Sacred Heart University style is preppy. I felt like this would be the perfect event for the type of environment we are in. I felt like it would attract the most amount of people and would raise the most amount of money.

 CF: What does RMHC do?

AL: The Ronald McDonald House Charities supports families with ill children in any way possible. Whether a family needs a place to stay close to a medical facility where there child is or whether they need support in funding basic care for their ill child, the Ronald McDonald House Charities offers aid for any family in need.

CF: What made this event really successful?

AL: This event was extremely successful because Alpha Delta Pi worked exceptionally hard to market the event around campus. In addition to the effort of Alpha Delta Pi, other Greek organizations attended to support the wonderful cause and to have a great time!

Learn More: Alpha Delta Pi raised over $400 for the Ronald McDonald House. This was an amazing event, and everyone had an awesome time. You can find more about this organization and how you can donate online.
