AROUND TOWN: Sarah Saltsman, MOFÉ

Around Town

I always love being in-the-know before everyone else on up-and-coming designers, and now you can be, too! I spotted this stylish Fashionista sporting an adorable handbag, and had to investigate. Little did I know, she was the PR intern of a new line of handbags by MOFÉ. Luxury leather, rich colors and total versatility, these stunning clutches and purses bring chic to a whole new level. I was so interested in both of the bags, and how this Fashionista adapted to West Coast style as an East Coast native!

Name: Sarah Saltsman, MOFÉ

Role: PR Intern

CollegeFashionista: What’s your personal take on LA internship attire?

Sarah Saltsman: Anything goes, especially when it comes to the fashion industry. I have been trying to step out of my comfort zone, and add a lot of colorful pieces and oversized patterned pants into my look. Sometimes I still come into the office wearing all-black with a pair of Jack Rogers and my boss is like “Oh, I forgot you were an East Coaster.”

CF: Tell me more about MOFÉ handbags!

SS: There is so much to say about MOFÉ. Not only do we sell crazy chic handbags, but we are also on a mission to empower and inspire women. We emulate this in everything we do—from our social media presence to our product design to our blog.

CF: What is your role in MOFÉ handbags?

SS: Almost everything but sales. We are a small team, and all of our desks are positioned around the CEO, so we spend most of the day bouncing ideas off each other for blog posts, media content, events and just about everything! I also do a lot of the social media analytics and public relations work.

CF: How do you wear your MOFÉ handbags?

SS: I wear MOFÉ when I want to feel about 10 times more confident and mature than I actually am. I think the bags are very sleek, so they won’t be overpowering to your look, but they emulate a chic, power-chick look.

CF: How has LA changed your overall style?

SS: LA has taught me that you can wear an oversized sweater and a band T-shirt without looking homeless. I’m embracing the beachy-boho look with fabric shorts and pants, peasant blouses and messy beach hair. I can’t tell if I like it because it’s a side of my style that I have never explored before, or instead because I feel like I’m wearing pajamas all day.
