For my last post of the summer, I wanted to feature a friend that I made this week during Georgia’s incredibly popular Atlanta Market. For the week, Richana Taplin and I were working with the most prominent prom and pageant designer in the country, Sherri Hill. Richana has a bright and vibrant style, and is not afraid to mix pattern with texture. She not only has style, but thinks about practicality. Here she is wearing crochet TOMS, a dress from Dillard’s and a Michael Kors bag. Although they are not the most professional shoes for our work environment, when you work long hours it’s hard to think about anything else but comfort!
Name: Richana Taplin
Role: Market Intern, Atlanta Market
CollegeFashionista: Where are you from?
Richana Taplin: I am from Edmond, Oklahoma.
CF: What do you do there?
RT: I work at a store called Serendipity Prom. We sell prom dresses and other merchandise. We also sell Sherri Hill, which is why I am so good at selling for her! I know the merchandise and target customer very well.
CF: How does the store influence your style?
RT: It doesn’t really, working there just taught me to appreciate other styles, and learn about this avenue of fashion!
CF: Where do you shop?
RT: I shop at Lucca, a local boutique in Oklahoma that carries a lot of contemporary styles (bebe and BCBGMAXAZRIA). Those stores sort of define my style. I use a lot of color and accessories, and those stores are great places to find those things.
CF: What style influencers do you take cues from?
RT: I love Rhianna and her style. I don’t take cues from her, but I appreciate her unique style. I try and find clothes in stores, and come up with my own style by myself. I don’t need to look at blogs or people to define my style.
