You may have twenty dollars in your pocket, but do you really want to spend hours “poppin’ tags” at a thrift store? With hand picked vintage and second-hand items mixed with new, trendy ones, Revival Resale Boutique in Akron, Ohio is the solution for your dilemma. They also sell a diverse assortment of adorable rings and other accessories to go along with your new “revived” outfit. Revival is the perfect spot for summer shopping on a budget. I caught up with the store’s owner Robyn to chat about what makes Revival Resale such a great addition to the Akron area.
Name: Robyn Yuratovac
Role: Store Owner, Revival Resale Boutique
CollegeFashionista: What is your favorite trend for summer?
Robyn Yuratovac: I do have to stay on trends to buy clothing for my store, but now that I have gotten older I don’t see myself wearing the trends as much. I focus on comfortable clothing now more than ever, but I do love cutouts. I think a little cutout on a dress or romper adds just the right amount of skin without being too much skin.
CF: What is the best part about owning your own boutique?
RY: Being able to work for yourself is the best thing. My brother and I have worked retail for years and then one day we said, “You know, we can do this ourselves.”
CF: Where do you get your inspiration for the name of Revival?
RY: My brother and I were just brainstorming ideas with “re” in it. We thought of words like revamp, reuse, revive and revival just stuck. Revival is all about reviving old clothes that someone just gave away. It really instills the fact that fashion always comes full circle, and what is old can easily be made new again.
CF: How do get inspiration to buy clothes for your store?
RY: I love shopping for myself online like on Shopbop or Revolve. I like to use trends of best-selling clothes from those sites and find affordable versions of those to sell in the “new” section of my store.
