AROUND TOWN: Rachel Kopp

As a senior Fashion Merchandising student, Rachel Kopp had the amazing opportunity to be an assistant director for the upcoming Illinois State University fashion show. This year’s show theme is “Enchanted” and everyone is very excited about the great designs the night will hold. This in-charge Fashionista definitely knows how to dress! On this particular spring day she was rocking a bandage skater skirt, graphic T-shirt and black booties. The shades and hat are the perfect accessories to add on for a sunny day.

Name: Rachel Kopp

Role: Assistant Director

CollegeFashionista: What made you want to be on the board for the fashion show?

Rachel Kopp: As a transfer student and not really being involved with much during my college career before coming to ISU, I wanted to do something that I can look back on and have it be the highlight of my college career. When the applications came out, I read each description of the positions over and over again and finally decided that the Director or Assistant Director had qualifications that I’ve met in previous events in my life. So, I went for it, applied, and just hoped for the best. I was nervous and willing to take any position and to my great surprise, I found out I had gotten the Assistant Director position. I am so happy that I set my nerves and negativity to the side and went for it! It’s been such an amazing journey with great people and lifelong friends.

CF: Why are you most excited for the show?

RK: I am beyond excited for how different our show is going to be compared to past years. We’re ready to transform the Brown Ballroom into something “Enchanted”! And, of course, like everyone else, I’m excited for the stunning designs our wonderfully talented designers have been working on!

CF: How would you describe the theme of the show?

RK: Whimsically different.

CF: Do you plan on having a part in next year’s show? If so what do you think a good theme would be?

RK: I am so sad to answer this question because no, I will not be taking part in the show next year due to graduating in May! But I can’t wait to support next year’s show and be in the crowd enjoying it. As for the theme…that was probably the hardest part for us…so I can only offer best wishes for the next board when it comes to the theme!

Learn More: Check out the “Enchanted” Facebook page and make sure to get your tickets! The show will be here on April 16th before you know it!
