Moda Magazine is the one and only life and style publication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. For the past two years, the impressive fashion section has been led by Paige Schultz. When she isn’t busy completing coursework for her Strategic Communications and Communication Arts majors, chances are you can find her rocking a chic, on-trend outfit around campus or working diligently on an exciting new project for Moda. I caught up this fashion editor to discuss her personal style, role as an editor and goals for the future.
Name: Paige Schultz
Role: Fashion Editor, Moda Magazine
CollegeFashionista: Could you describe your personal style and name your must-have fall trends?
Paige Schultz: I really like Banana Republic. I have also been picking out a lot of things from Ann Taylor recently. I love the streamline nature of their clothes. I also like The Limited and Vince Camuto for boots and accessories. I like oversized sweaters and the menswear trends that are going on right now. I love being able to juxtapose masculine pieces with feminine ones. I also like all the fur accents. My purse has fur on it, and I love that it’s on-trend. For accessories, I’m in love with over the knee boots, but have not been able to find a pair yet. I’d love to pair them with a shorter, ‘60s hemline.
CF: What are your day to day duties as fashion editor?
PS: Editing the weekly content is the first thing I do. Everyday I talk with my assistant, Marissa, to see what we want to happen in the fashion section for the following week. I’m constantly trying to keep up with all the industry news and trends by checking social media and following various fashion news outlets like Fashionista.com, ELLE and Vogue.
CF: Which weekly piece is your favorite to publish for the fashion section?
PS: Style Diaries is my favorite weekly piece because it puts the spotlight on students, giving them someone they can relate to. The problem with fashion among students here is that they think it’s out of their reach. I feel like this feature inspires them more.

Keep an eye out for exciting online fashion content including Style Diaries and Style Guides. Paige is planning on putting out a winter outerwear Style Guide, as well as one featuring spring trends next semester. This fashion-forward student is on her way to accomplishing many more exciting things during the remainder of her senior year here at the University of Wisconsin.
