Emily Fayssoux is a Savannah College of Art and Design student living in NYC for the summer. She’s studying Fashion, and has an internship with a predominant stylist, Erin McSherry. When I met up with her, I thought she encompassed what a New York intern should look like. She wore a cute cropped tank top from Forever 21 over a little summer dress. Her accessories are really my favorite part of her outfit. Her backpack is the most essential item because being handsfree, stylish and comfortable is crucial to a New York intern in any field! Her Jeffrey Campbell shoes are also the perfect summer boot; they’re work appropriate, heeled, woven and still a boot! They’re my favorite part of her whole look.
Name: Emily Fayssoux
Role: Fashion Intern
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Emily Fayssoux: I have many different styles, I think. I usually dress professionally. I would say I am comfortable, yet stylish.
CF: Who are your style icons?
EF: I love Miley Cyrus’ attitude when it comes to fashion. She’s so careless, yet so planned. That’s the way I try to dress every day: effortlessly.
CF: What is a key factor in dressing well, but being ready for anything your internship throws your way?
EM: After all of the experiences I have had this summer, I would say looking good is important, but not everything! You have to dress comfortably enough to do your job. If you’re wearing heels and can’t do an errand fast enough, that’s no excuse. Looking good is also important. You have to be professional, especially in the fashion industry. Appearances really are everything, to be honest.
