Walking to and fro class at the University of Iowa brings you to the path most traveled: the Pentacrest. This highly populated version of a quad is the center of campus buildings and friendly gatherings. With that being said, it is quite possible you will run into a familiar face, so dressing comfortably for the walk, but trendy enough for unexpected encounters, is key.
This Fashionista has me green with envy. On a campus where long black puffer jackets are prominent, the sight of a forest green, leather-detailed jacket is quite refreshing. Iowa is still in the dead of winter, so continuing to layer jackets on top of sweaters, like this Fashionista has, makes for a stylishly warm walk through campus.
I am anxious to see what will become of pastel colored jeans this spring, but I will be disappointed to see neutral colored jeans of this winter left behind. This Fashionista is sporting a pair of emerald colored jeans, adding a subtle richness to her simple look. Colored jeans are a great substitute to blue jeans and act as a great base to any outfit.
While I love seeing a beautiful pair of leather boots, especially in this cold weather, there is a special place in my heart for those sporting unique sneakers. Now, pair those sneakers with a slight wedge, and ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. This Fashionista’s shoes are a great alternative to winter boots and look great with almost any outfit. DSW carries a similar version that are fierce and, as an added bonus, affordable!
One Simple Change: Switch out the sweater for a sheer button-up blouse and add a brightly colored clutch to make a more feminine outfit for a ladies night out.
