Tornado warning or not, this Fashionista turned up the winds when she stepped out all dolled up for class today. Rainy season in Savannah only means one thing — bring out the rain boots and umbrellas. I spotted this Fashionista by her bright umbrella, which stood out against gloomy weather. She looked like she just stepped out of a Kate Spade lookbook and could not look any cuter. The polka-dot shirt layered underneath her black sweater and playful necklace defines Kate Spade and this Fashionista nailed the look! I loved how she paired a monochromatic wardrobe with pops of colors coming from both her lipstick and umbrella. Her classic Hunter rain boots are effortlessly chic. I just had to stop this Fashionista and ask her more about her style.

CollegeFashionista: Please tell me that Kate Spade was your inspiration for this outfit?
Erin Kelly: Haha, yes, she was! I love her playful and quirky style.
CF: Do you consider her to be one of your main inspirations when it comes to fashion?
EK: I do. I actually got to work for Kate Spade at one of her stores this past break and I loved everything about it.
CF: That’s amazing! Who else would you say you draw inspiration from?
EK: I typically draw inspiration from my surroundings. Growing up, everyone I knew only wore J.Crew, Vineyard Vines and Kate Spade, but now here at SCAD I’ve been trying out new styles.
How To: Want to replicate this Fashionista’s quirky style? Well, when it’s not raining, you can switch the rainboots for trendy ballerina flats with an ankle strap attached. These flats from Zara are so chic with its attached chain and jewels. These Alice + Olivia flats are adorable with its bow attached on the back. However, if you want a simpler pair, these Steve Madden solid ballerina flats with the ankle strap are the way to go.
