Style Guru Bio

I’m ringing in the New Year with my first post on CollegeFashionista! Like most, I am definitely excited to join such a great team of guys and gals. I attend Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and I am currently in my first year. Going to college far from home is not something I ever thought I would do.  Especially coming from NYC, I had my doubts on how any other city could ever measure up, but to my surprise, I love my school. Even better, I love the fashion I see around my school. Everyone who’s anyone walks around with a custom urban style. Diversity is truly a beautiful thing, especially in the fashion world.

In any case fashion wasn’t my first love. Photography was. Since I was little, you could always find me behind a camera documenting every little detail in my life.  So you are probably thinking, “Oh she must be photography major. Right?” No, I’m actually majoring in Graphic Design. While in high school I took 3 years of Graphic Design and was even able to land an internship my senior year with a firm! It might not be as fun as photography, but it’s something I know I love doing. I feel like I’m still trying to find my place in this world as an artist. I know in 6 years I want to find myself working in publications. My dream is to actually end up somewhere in Condé Nast.

Nothing comes on a silver platter and I know working towards my goals isn’t going to be easy, but who doesn’t like a good challenge? I’m ready to take on the world and make a difference in fashion with photography and/or graphic design. Hopefully you will enjoy my future posts here on CollegeFashionista. I have been lucky enough to get the job of posting for Let’s Hear it for the Boys column. With all of that being said, everyone have a fantastic New Year!
