I can pinpoint exactly when I fell in love with patterned tights. It was Henry Holland's House of Holland fall 2009 collection where he sent a rainbow of striped colored garments down the runway. He made stripes look heavenly and, even more so, he made wearing striped tights not just a fashion statement for Pippi Longstocking.
An immediate chain reaction occurred where retailers started imitating their own version of Holland's genius tights so everyone could obtain that couture look. Holland even created a reasonably priced pair for Pretty Polly that obviously blew out in seconds.
Today's Fashionista though stayed true to Holland's design with an almost identical pair of tights from his 2009 collection. Not giving in to the safer trend of patterned tights, she remained loyal to what I believe to be the start of wild designed hosiery.
Whether you are still fascinated by striped tights, like myself, or if you have moved on to the latest and greatest version of crazy hosiery; I think we can all agree that today's Fashionista rocked it with her Holland-inspired getup.
