I love a good double take in fashion. You know that moment where you admire an outfit and just as you turn your head you notice something you hadn’t at first. Those looks that make you take a second glance are always winners in my book.
Take for example this Fashionista. At first, I was drawn in by her festive sweater and its bold, unique pattern. But upon second glace, it was her gold accessories that drew me in. From her oversized earrings to the gold studded collar to her… gold, mesh tie. Wait is that a tie? I had to look again. Yes, Fashionistas/os, it is a tie. What at first glance looks like a lariat necklace or a collar is in fact a tie. The simple and dainty silhouette of her metallic neckwear makes the whole concept that more cheeky.
An accessory that is usually reserved for the fellas has been creeping it’s way into fashion as of late. I have admired the bowtie-blouse combo for a while now (although, admittedly, I am not daring enough to actually sport it as of yet). But this Fashionista takes it to a whole new level. Her full fledged tie looks so high fashion and feminine all at the same time. A feminine tie? This was a first for me. And I hope not the last.
Spotted: Miu Miu’s fall 2012 show was all about the well-suited lady. From full on matching suits to oversized patterned ties, the collection was all about the sharp dressed (wo)man.
