Happy spring semester, Fashionista/os! My name’s Amber Allan and I’ll be continuing my sophomore year at Temple University this semester. I can’t even explain how excited and grateful I am to be writing for CollegeFashionista for another semester! Currently, I’m an undeclared Business major hoping to minor in Italian.
Growing up, anyone that knew me, knew I had my heart set on a fast pace fashion career one day. Today, I still aspire to be apart of the fashion industry but you could call me somewhat of an opportunist. Therefore, I’m open to anything. So as I continue to pursue a career in fashion, I try to keep my options open to leave a little room for fate.
If I walk into the mall, ninety-five percent of the time I can talk myself out of buying another useless sweater or typical top. But take me to a vintage boutique and I’m more upset with myself if I leave empty handed. I was definitely born into the wrong time period. Clothes with age have more detail, more character. I’d rather buy something with a little history to give it flare than another mass produced outfit you so often find in malls today. I like my clothes a size too big, layered on and sometimes a little unpredictable. Although I have a soft spot for vintage styles, you could find me wearing any style depending upon my mood.
Last semester I was given the opportunity to write for “Let’s Hear it For The Boys.” Although it was a challenge at first, it turned out be an amazing experience. I learned more about men’s fashion than I ever thought possible. This semester I’m thrilled to be writing for the “Accessories Report.” Considering I wear more jewelry in one day than most wear over the period of a month, I think I’m the right person for the job. So be sure to keep up with me this semester as I write all about Temple University’s accessorized Fashionista/os!
