Now that Thanksgiving has come to an end and our real favorite holiday, Black Friday, has finally arrived, that only means one thing—it’s time for holiday shopping! This season, the best gift you can give your friends, as well as yourself, is a fabulous pair of sunglasses; fabulous winter sunglasses.
Although temperatures are beginning to reach a new low, the Kansas sun hasn’t stopped shining yet, so what better way to complement your winter gear than with a pair of sophisticated sunnies? In most cases, once the chillier seasons roll around it’s time to swap our summer favorites for clothing with a cozier vibe. This may also be true when it comes to seasonal accessories. However, one of the biggest misconceptions often made is categorizing sunglasses as a summer-only accessory. Just because it’s getting colder doesn’t mean it’s permanently dark and dreary!
Winter sunglasses are one of the best solutions to turn frumpy into fab when styling an ensemble to master the cold. And lets face it, a chic pair of shades is the ultimate cure for the winter fashion blues. One of my favorite styles of sunglasses this season is the cat-eye. Adding them with an impeccably tailored dresscoat will create the ultimate classic look. Another great style for winter is the oversized sunglasses. In fact, these are great for any season. No matter what you pair them with they’ll certainly be a fashion statement for any ensemble. They come in various colors to match all your favorite outfits and can also be found in different shapes as well.
This Fashionista knows how to rock her favorite summer sunglasses with classy winter attire. She’s wearing a trendy black gathered skirt, one of her favorite purchases from a recent trip to Korea, with boots and leggings for warmth and an oversized knitted sweater. To tie it all together she’s added a chic pair of aviators and an oversized mustard yellow fossil bag. Oversized bags are a great solution for carrying minimal school supplies when you’re not in the mood for hauling around a stuffed backpack.
If you’re like me, winter isn’t exactly something to look forward to every year. So rather than letting the cold get the best of you, add a little glam to your outfit before heading to class in the morning. When you look good, you feel good and you do good—according to my mother, anyways.
