I do not believe in coincidences and it definitely was not by chance that I stumbled into this Fashionista. When showing my photo to one of my friends, she exclaimed, “That’s one of my bloggers! I follow her!” As it turns out, this beauty is the woman behind the awesome blog, she wears fashion, a UK style blog. Featured on MTV style, Stockholm Street Style, among many other sites, this Fashionista posts beautiful pictures of unique, very British and youthful outfits that are both inspiring and artful.
What I love most about this outfit is its simplicity and playfulness. The black overalls by River Island are an amazing take on the overalls trend, as they are loose-fitting, but still chic and flattering. Leaving one strap unbuckled allows the detail of her lookalike Celine T-shirt and gold necklace to be visible. I’m a huge fan of graphic T-shirts and think that they’re a super easy way to add boldness and uniqueness to any outfit.
The pop of lime green from her beanie and translucent clutch are what initially drew my attention to this Fashionista. When wearing neon, you can’t hide, but as this Fashionista proves, that doesn’t mean you can’t also be understated. Through keeping the rest of her outfit relatively conservative and muted, the pops of color are not overwhelming or distracting, but rather keep the outfit fresh and dynamic.
This outfit, although at the time of shooting unbeknownst to me, is very typical of the sorts of ensembles found on she wears fashion —simple, attentive to shapes, colorful and always conscious of how styles work with her body. I will definitely be referring to this site as an example of UK fashion done right, and if you’re curious about what’s trending on this side of the pond, you should too!
