Spotted: Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester strolling Montreal’s downtown streets. As I excitedly took out my camera, ready to channel my inner paparazzi, I realized that this Fashionista was not Leighton Meester, but her long lost twin. Though initially disappointed, I quickly realized that her look-alike was probably easier to approach since bodyguards would no longer be an issue.
Besides their uncanny resemblance, another thing that both Leighton Meester and today’s Fashionista have in common is their keen sense of style. Gossip Girl fans across the world tune in to follow the show's crazy plot lines, but also to take fashion advice from its undeniably fashionable cast, and to appreciate Upper East Side’s glamour and love for haute couture.
Today’s Fashionista’s outfit is perfect for summer. High waisted summer skirts are huge this season, and for good reason. Perfect for an afternoon stroll or if trying to pack lightly while on vacation, skirts are versatile and fashionable. The most popular choices are florals, tribal prints, and even asymmetrical shapes too. The key is finding the right length and going for a pop of color.
