God save the Queen! God save McQueen!!!
Every Fashionista knows that England has given the world some truly iconic images in terms of fashion. Alexander McQueen’s skulls, Vivienne Westwood’s orbs and scepter’s, Pippa Middleton’s bum! But perhaps the most iconic image that has been used countless times over by many designers and Fashionista’s alike is the undeniably British union jack.
As this fashionista trotted off to class, she added a pop of colour and country pride to her outfit by throwing her books in an oversized canvas bag adorned with the image of the union jack, with flower detailing. Not only is it perfect to put all of a fashionista’s class essentials in it, but it also has more colours than the standard union jack, giving it a little more personality. The leather handles of the bag matched her milk chocolate leather boots making some gorgeous symmetry in her accessories.
As the English weather can be unpredictable, her outfit consisted of much layering. A black lacy tank, a wider white lace cropped top and a beautiful Topshop chambray shirt.
And to top it all off a smooth leather jacket with faux fur detailing on the collar (which can be removed, a favourite option of mine!).
The lack of colour in the clothing makes her look very sharp and winter ready, but the bag really completes her ensemble, making her look like the perfect English rose.
Spotted: As reigning design house of most things British, Alexander McQueen has a gorgeous union jack and skull clutch out this season.
