Following new trends at times will have you flustered and frustrated because of all the rules and regulations you have to abide by. Sticking to what you know is the best way to go. No matter how many cool trends come along throughout the years, you can never go wrong with the fall classics to demonstrate elegance, grace and ease. A blazer, nice slacks, crisp button-downs, warm turtlenecks and a pair of nice leather boots are elements that are timeless and have yet to disappoint. Tailored slacks and structured jackets are some of my favorite articles for this season, so J.Crew and Zara are always my go-to for classics with modern tweaks.
The Fashionisita I caught sight of was was all about the classics, while adding a few modern tweaks of her own. She wore a navy blazer over a burgundy button-down with black slacks, and added some sparkle with a dainty necklace. The added modern fun to her look, with skull head loafers and cheetah skin nail art, was just enough details to make this look her own. She is letting her natural beauty shine through with a radiant nude face and beautiful natural curls, which I talked about before and how it is ideal for a student and this season.
The staple piece of fall classics is a blazer or jacket. There should be at least two of each in your wardrobe. A blazer or tailored jacket shows off feminine curves with a play on masculine style. A great blazer will pair with just about everything perfectly, from work trousers to jeans. A great fitting jacket adds structure to your figure, gives curvy girls more angular lines, creates waistlines for boyish figure types and smooths out lumps and bumps for all shapes. Select traditional fall jacket fabrics like tweed, corduroy, denim or menswear plaids—or go luxe with velvet, leather or brocade, because these classics won't go out of style.
When all else fails, stay calm and wear classics.
