I’ve always kept my beauty routine rather simple; it’s essentially been the same over the past few years. I’ve become a creature of my habit. However, I never skip out on the details in anything. Small things matter to me: a fresh manicure, a pair of earrings or the right sunglasses. They simply create a look. When I spotted this Fashionista, not only was I envious of her put together look (and her cozy, chunky sweater) but take a closer look under her oversized aviators and voilà! She was dawning simple yet chic winged eyeliner.
At first glance, creating the perfect winged eyeliner seems a little tricky (especially if you’re using a liquid liner) but don’t hesitate to try something new even if it takes a few tries to perfect it. You want to start by drawing over your entire lash line. At the outer corner of your eye, draw at an angle (as accented or delicate as you’d like) and match it on the other side. Some Fashionistas have mastered this look by adding more mascara on the outer half of the eyelid, creating a natural wave that matches your eyelid. Finally, thicken the wing to your liking and make sure both eyes are symmetrical.
This classic look can add definition to any Fashionista’s ensemble. If you’re going for a more understated wing, you can probably get away with using a normal liner such as Maybelline’s Define-a-Line soft tip liner, which is easier to use than a pencil. However, if you’re looking for precision, don’t be afraid to try liquid. The best part of this beauty trick is that you can be as outrageous or as subtle as you wish. Just remember that every little detail counts! Add a touch of mascara and a hint of white or ivory eye shadow to the inner corner of your eyes to finish the look. Complement it by throwing on a comfy and trendy shearling vest to keep warm in the chilly temperatures, matched with an oversized sweater, black jeans and your favorite pair of booties.
