ALL ABOUT BEAUTY: Hot Pink Child In The City

All About Beauty

They say that sexy is a confidence game; no matter what you’re wearing, it’s the feeling that wins the major points in the long run. And while I completely agree that you need spunk more than style, there is something irrevocably powerful (and sexy-feeling inducing) about a statement lip, which was only further proven by this week’s Fashionista.

Working a cheetah-print sweater with motorcycle-esque jeans and sparkle flats, this Fashionista’s smile is almost as bright as the sun with highly glossed lips in a perfect shade of bold fuchsia. Her secret to the high-end shine is Victoria Secret’s Iip gloss (I suggest shades Glow and Bronze Baby) over a heat-activated lipstick that personalizes a shade to your natural body-temp.

While heat-activating color means a signature shade every time, it makes it a little harder to share with friends, especially when on one person it’s a dark merlot and the next a fiery orange-red. Try out Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten or CoverGirl’s Outlast Lip Stain in Scarlet Pucker to get the initial color pop, and then lay over your favorite gloss to add the perfect final touch. Or if you are looking for color a little more personal, though no less statement, try out the Robanda Mood Lips available at Sally’s Beauty Supply.

With the streets bogged down by wine and mustard, navy and evergreen, this week’s Fashionista takes a bold move by incorporating early winter colors of cream and grey with her holiday bright lips to stand out against the sea of autumn palettes. And since sexy is a game, I’m 100 percent certain this Fashionista plays to win.
