ALL ABOUT BEAUTY: Fall Fringe

All About Beauty

‘Tis the season for pumpkin pie, cozy sweaters, mini candy bars and bangs, which Elle magazine calls the “ultimate hair accessory this season.” Bangs are great for the fall because the weather is less likely to cause frizzing, not to mention the extra forehead coverage is not a bad thing now that it’s getting colder and colder. Actually, I was recently tempted to chop off all my hair, but, in light of the low temperatures, I opted for a more weather-friendly change by getting bangs instead. They’re a fun look if you want to change up your ‘do, but if you’ve never had them before be prepared for the extra maintenance.

Today’s Fashionista rocks her bangs a little messy, which works great with her wavy dark locks. They also draw attention to her bold glasses and brown eyes, which are accentuated with thick eyeliner. As an accessory, the bangs tie her whole look together; that’s the power of a great, current hairstyle. For today’s Fashionista, the bangs are a girly yet sophisticated look that complements the vibe of her outfit. I especially like the retro vintage feel they give with her collared blouse and tweed blazer.

But bangs aren’t for everyone, especially those who aren’t ready for the commitment. If you’re indecisive about bangs like the infamous Fashionista Patrick Pope is in the popular YouTube video “Sh*t Fashion Girls Say,” go ahead and try them out (after consulting everyone you know). After the big snip you might be quoting the last line of the video, “Oh my god I hate my bangs!” but guess what? Hair grows and fortunately ‘tis also the season for cute hats and beanies. Be daring and try out the fall fringe!
