I find it absolutely perplexing that one of the biggest beauty no-nos is the dreaded roots (as long as we forget that minute in the early 2000s when an inch of black was purposely added to every New York blonde) while dipped tips are all the rage, but one can’t deny that there’s just something so cool-girl about bleached ends.
This week’s Fashionista was banking on the still-summer temperatures on campus this week by taking a stroll through UGA’s beautiful Founder’s Garden, and likewise showing off her blonde bombshell dye-job. With the sparkling sunrays reflecting off her strands, this Fashionista was putting a little California surfer in the December air.
While Pinterest has been blowing up the Twitter and Facebook newsfeeds with pastel punches and gem-colored strands, there is definitely something to be said for the understated honey hued block color – especially when you can sport it to an interview without a haphazard cover up bun. The perfect ends definitely depend on your natural color, but the soft golden hue of this Fashionista’s shade is the perfect compliment to her darker natural tint.
My favorite hairstyle to rock this dye trend is definitely the lazy waves a la Lauren Conrad because no one does effortless quite like LC, but the ombr bob of Alexa Chung certainly capitalizes on the subtle shock factor with pizzaz. So whether it be playful waves or gamine crop, there’s one rule to keep the winter blues from taking over your beauty routine: keep the sunshine in your hair with golden tips that will glint even on snow days.
