ALL ABOUT BEAUTY: Color Is The Cure

All About Beauty

What’s the cure to this recent fall gloom you ask? COLOR! COLOR! And maybe some more of that COLOR! Spicing up your outfit by adding color is a fun way to liven up anyone’s style—even if the color may not be typical for fall. Straying from the norm is what makes one a Fashionista, right? Right. Some may worry that too much color can verge on looking like you played dress up with your five-year old cousin, but this week’s Fashionista does it in the right way, looking both fly and classy.

Not only is her outfit ready to brighten up your day with teal shorts and a bright yellow top—both from H&M—but also her Tory Burch flats contain a color-party of their own: orange, tiffany blue, coral and purple. Take some notes from this Fashionista, and don’t be afraid to mix colors!

To ease into the bright color-trend, try pairing a simple white T-Shirt with colored CarMar jeans from your local LF boutique or affordable colored shorts from Forever 21. You can even emulate the idea of implementing patterns with color, such as the inclusion of this Fashionista’s printed flats into her already colorful outfit, by wearing a striped shirt or a fall floral shirt along with your bright bottoms! Now on to my favorite part of the outfit: her bright pink lips. No matter what you’re wearing, how your hair is done or if it’s day or not, rocking colored lips will always add that extra umph to your outfit. Of course, beware not to overdo your outfit with too much color though.

The look of this week’s Fashionista is the perfect example of the right way to mix up colors. With a natural face of makeup, including light blush and some bronzer, colored lips will cure your fall gloom slump. For those who are intimidated by the daring lip, try a light pink color like this pale but opaque lipstick from MAC Cosmetics. This particular Fashionista is used to rocking colored lips so on a regular day out, she is ready to bust out the bright colors. Accentuating what your mama gave ya—aka those lucious lips—is no crime. Colored lips will only add to your style. Maybe you don't have naturally full lips like this Fashionista; nevertheless, colored lips is still the answer: adding color to your lips will only make your lips appear larger and fuller. However, if you're already a bright color lip user, try a darker plum or violet like this MAC Cosmetics Marilyn Monroe lipstick. Spicing up your beauty routine will keep your classmates and peers on their toes—always awaiting to see what you'll have in store next.

If you really want to go for it, throw on some dark shades and bright pink lipstick like this week’s Fashionista, and you will most definitely turn heads! Daring bright lips will always pay off in elevating your look to the next level.
