ALL ABOUT BEAUTY: Caramel Locks

All About Beauty

Having hair envy is a common occurrence for me. While I love my own mane of wild curly hair there isn’t much I can do with it besides letting it be free. I love the many hair trends that are popular right now including ombré, color dip-dye, honey highlights, and short or shaved do’s. Fall is a great time to experiment with color because if the leaves are changing colors why shouldn’t your hair as well?

This Fashionista has the long luscious locks found only in glossy magazines and those Garnier Fructis commercials. She basically has the hair that we all dream of. Her caramel color highlights offset her fall outfit perfectly.  Caramel, ash brown or auburn highlights are great colors for fall because they keep your skin looking glow-y and healthy throughout those cold winter months. If you’re headed to the hair salon make sure to bring a picture of someone like Nikki Reed whose caramel highlights match her skin tone nicely.

I don’t recommend highlighting your own hair at home because precision can be tricky and you don’t want a botched job. But if you are daring try this product which will help with all the fine-tuning. After a trip to the salon your hair actually does look like those Garnier girls, but in order to keep it looking that way you need to keep your mane moisturized and treat it well. Carol’s Daughter has a great Olive Oil Infusion at-home treatment. You can even keep this product in overnight for even softer and moisturized locks. Aragan oil is also known for giving strength and sheen to overly dry and damaged hair. Josie Maran offers an aragan oil serum that you can use daily. Don't be afraid to try new colors this fall just make sure you have to proper tools to keep your hair healthly, shiny and happy.
