ALL ABOUT BEAUTY: A Taste of Mint

Uncategorized

The history of nail polish is quite fascinating. If you don’t know about it, the Egyptians used it decades ago to symbolize one’s social status. A certain color meant that you belonged to a certain class. Thank God the Egyptians thought of this because if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t have nail polish now — an obsession most all girls have that goes to the point of making our nails yellow.

Chanel’s fall/winter 2009 collection was nothing short of edgy and elegant, as usual. Besides their iconic tweed clothing in black, the beauty look was also the shining star. The models walked down the runway looking like they had diamonds on their eyelashes. Also, amidst the black and white hues was the surprising and refreshing mint green nail polish — a perfect juxtaposition only Karl Lagerfeld can pull off. The mint green/jade color was just a breath of fresh air.

Although the trend started two years ago, today’s Fashionista showcases the timelessness of this color of nail polish. She spruced up her neutral colored outfit with her mint green polish from Face Shop. It was a playful touch to an elegant outfit. Besides Face Shop, this delicious shade is also available in essie (known as Mint Candy Apple) and OPI Nail Lacquer (Mermaid Tears). To make your nails even more fashionable, you can put on some glitters across the tip of the nails just like Emily Schuman from Cupcakes and Cashmere did. With your nails in this color, staring at them will make you feel so delighted!
