ALL IN THE DETAILS: Winter Whites

February 10th, 2015 at 2:00am

When you’re younger, it seems like every girl’s mother will preach to them at some point that you can’t wear white after labor day. However, incorporating crisp, white pieces into all seasons has been styled by everyone recently. Whether it’s a pair of white jeans with riding boots or a starched, white oxford button-up, the color is popping up everywhere. My favorite way to style this trend was executed perfectly by this Fashionista.

It’s no secret that I love a structured statement coat. It dresses up every outfit and gives you that necessary pop of color to combat the constant grey weather. What about a skater skirt and a peacoat hybrid? That’s even better; I’m sold. I love how this Fashionista paired her clean, white coat with bright accessories while keeping the rest of her outfit neutral. The cut of the coat is super feminine and classic, which is ideal to dress up for winter holidays. It can also be dressed down for class and everyday wear. Not only will it keep you super warm, but it will also get you a million compliments. Plus, you’ll appear as if you just came straight from the streets of New York City.

To contrast the bright whites, incorporate some fun accessories. Whether it’s a feminine scarf, a cute hat, a fun pair of statement mittens or a bright handbag, color-blocking is your friend when it comes to styling a larger, solid piece of your outfit.

How To: It’s date night, and you’re going out to eat at your favorite, local five star restaurant. You have no idea how to style your new, white peacoat. Have no worries! Just pair it with your favorite patterned dress and a pair of tights and some chic heels. Not only will it look super feminine and flirty, but it will also create an awesome contrast. Heads will definitely be turning that night.
