ALL IN THE DETAILS: Winter Booties

March 5th, 2015 at 2:05am

A staple in most women’s winter wardrobes are layering pieces, a winter coat and a great pair of winter booties. Booties are the best shoes because of their versatility. One of my favorite ways to wear booties is with a pair of knee-high socks, a knit dress, my J.Crew winter coat and a great hat. I don’t know what it is about this shoe, but whatever it is paired with always seems to look more put together (but still casual and chic).

I found this Fashionista in downtown Savannah rocking her very own pair of winter booties this past weekend. Her effortless style made this outfit a go-to for the winter months. My favorite detail of her booties were the fuzzy fabric that lines the inside of the shoe to keep her feet warm on the coolest of days and evenings. I also loved the pop of color that the laces brought to this outfit.

How To: Like I said, this Fashionista’s style is effortless, so pairing items that are “no fuss” is the easiest way to achieve this look. Go for a pair of textured jeans in a light wash. This breaks up the dark hues of the top and shoes. This Fashionista paired her outfit with a black peplum top, but you could also opt for a black blouse. Try a chiffon fabric with a lacie bandeau. The sunglasses are a great item to have on you at all times but look especially chic in this look. Last but certainly not least, put on your favorite pair of booties. With just a few easy pieces you too can rock this laid back winter look.
