ALL IN THE DETAILS: Tuck In That Button-down

I’ve been a long time fan of tucking in T-shirts and button-downs. Whether it’s being tucked into pants, skirts or shorts the entire look feels a little more polished. Over time, fresh variations of tucking in T-shirts have made their way to the front pages of fashion sites, giving inspiration from everything to the front-tuck to the side-tuck. In my opinion though, nothing beats that classic, all-over tuck.

The first thing I noticed about this Fashionisto’s outfit was how his oversized button-down was casually tucked into his pants and how his sleeves were rolled up. In addition to his quirky blue-and-white stripped short sleeved button-down, he pulled off the khaki chino pants in a slouchy look. An additional bonus was the rolled pant cuff above his boot. The trick with the cuff is not to roll them too much, two or three usually does the trick, in order to achieve the “I didn’t try too hard” vibe. This Fashionisto proves that just because it’s a button-down and it’s tucked in, doesn’t mean that it can’t be casual. Grab a coffee or a drink with your friends this weekend in an outfit inspired by this one.

How To: Have you thought tucking in your T-shirt or button-down was too formal? Take inspiration from this Fashionisto and grab a short sleeved button-down with a quirky pattern (polka-dots or floral patterns work just as well!). Pull on some slouchy chino pants and desert boots and there you have it: a casual look to get you through the weekend.
