ALL IN THE DETAILS: Tiny Textures

The long-awaited autumn weather is finally here! Though it is exciting to think about the upcoming holidays and to buy everything pumpkin-flavored in sight, it also means that an outfit with a sleeveless garment is not warm enough anymore. However, it doesn’t mean you have to pack that piece of clothing away! Utilizing variation in fabrics and textures allows one to transition favorite warm weather pieces into the fall. This Fashionista knew that layering was going to be the focus when she styled her look for the day.

To start, she layered a basic black long sleeve shirt underneath her trendy midi dress. The simplicity of the top allows for the dress’ knit fabric to not be overshadowed. To include both flirty and edgy elements, she pairs her favorite silver statement necklace and ring together. Fun orchid purple nails add a pop of color. She then opts for a wool coat in a jewel tone as an outer layer if she gets cold. One thing to try with outerwear if you haven’t already is to wear a coat over your shoulders instead of putting it completely on. Wearing something this way allows for more of the neckline of your top to show.

This Fashionista finishes off her outfit by stepping out in a small twist on the classic black bootie. When you take a closer look, the jeweled texture of the shoe is visible and perfectly complements her other accessories. To make this look your own, go for bold pattern mixing or a fun sneaker instead of heels. You could also trade in the statement necklace for a choker or layered chains. Allow the details of the outfit to provide uniqueness. This is such an easy look to pull off, so I hope you go have fun with it!
