ALL IN THE DETAILS: The Velvet Piece

A new season means new trends, and the season of fall has me right in the velvet and silk feels. As the weather gets cooler, distressed jeans, long-sleeved blouses and layers of clothes are brought out of your closet and can finally be added to your everyday wardrobe. From everything denim to an abundance of floral, we’re really seeing it all this fall season. Sure, you can go with the simple silk tank over the T-shirt combo (one of the greatest comebacks), or you can find new ways to incorporate this fad. When I saw this Fashionista’s outfit, I automatically noticed how she uniquely incorporated her take on velvet: a purse.

This totally thrifted look screams vintage, from her high-waisted cuffed jeans to her tucked-in floral top. The whole outfit is coordinated around warm colors, welcoming the month of October with open arms and (velvet) purses, ready to spend money on that perfect latte. I love that to complete her look, she added the cross-body purse, which can alter the vibe from casual to chic. This Fashionista’s style totally is affordable, too, which us college students are totally about.

This Fashionista completed her look with lace-up flats and carrying a green button-up in case the weather gets colder. The button-up can be tied around the waist, too, which is a stylish and convenient way to layer.

Not a fan of the velvet trend? Switch the texture for leather or try the trendy mini backpack, a perfect swap for making your way to class this season.
