All in the Details: The Big Plaid Scarf

December 1st, 2015 at 2:10am

I noticed early this season that my minimalistic habits had left my closet with a whole lot of black, white and gray. I’m personally all for neutrals, but I love to add a flare of color somewhere in my outfits to switch things up and add a bit of variety to my wardrobe. In the fall, scarves are one of my favorite ways to add a pop of color or pattern to an outfit. Plaid scarves, in particular, have taken up a section of my closet this year.

This Fashionista’s scarf is one of my favorites. The best part? It’s at Forever 21 for less than $15 dollars! This scarf is another one of my favorites from Forever 21. The thing I love most about this scarf is its size. There are some days when I just want to snuggle in a bunch of blankets all day and not go to class. I feel like the cozy factor of my dorm stays with me all day when I’ve got a big scarf on. This Fashionista is wearing a wrap scarf, but I’ve also got a thing for chunky infinity scarf, like this one here, because they’re just so easy to throw on before class.

An element I love about this Fashionista’s outfit is her jacket, which is super similar to this jacket here. It gives her an extra layer of warmth, and looks incredibly chic! She completes her look with a white T-shirt, black jeans and tan boots.

Stay cozy and warm this winter with your favorite scarves. The coziness of your bed will stay with you all day!

How To: I don’t like too many colors or patterns in my outfits, so I like starting with a lot of neutrals. Go for a neutral shirt and a pair of jeans. Or, if you want to get fancier, put a scarf on with a black dress, and throw on a pair of black tights. Either way, you’re sure to turn heads!
