ALL IN THE DETAILS: Suns Out, Sleeveless Sweaters Out

As the not-so-frigid Ithaca winter sets in, too few students are trading their layers of sweatshirts for more El Niño-friendly options. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my srat sweatshirts as much as the next girl. Some mornings they are your only chance at becoming somewhat functional for the day, but this unseasonably warm weather needs to be taken advantage of before it disappears into the gorges like my economics grade.

Enter our newest Fashionista.

She kills the weather game by whipping out the sleeveless sweater, side slits and all. This perfect compromise keeps your body warm under your winter coat for the brisk walk to your 8:00 a.m. class, while allowing your skin to feel the Vitamin D when you sit outside CTB for your daily after class coffee. That is only for this current mood swing weather.

The sleeveless sweater is one of the most versatile, and low-key, articles of clothing a Fashionista/o can have in their closet. It can be worn almost any time of the year: pick a light cotton for breezy summer nights or a cozy ribbed wool for the fall. They can even be layered with a turtleneck for those below-zero kind of days we’re all in denial about coming back.

Our Fashionista paired her nude sleeveless sweater with camouflage pants to add a pop of print, and accessorized with brown boots and a gold watch to pull the whole look together.

How To: The sleeveless sweater can be worn in almost any setting and transitions well from day to night. Pair it with a fun denim pant and boots for a casual day to class or find a longer one to wear as a tunic with tights and booties for a nice dinner.
