ALL IN THE DETAILS: Subtle Snakeskin

Want to spice up a seemingly simple outfit? Well, here is your solution; throw in a splash of animal print. From cheetah to snakeskin to zebra, there are so many prints to choose from that add a unique touch to any outfit. Animal print can be worn in any form of clothing, including shoes, shirts, dresses and even pants. When I saw this Fashionista, I couldn’t help but notice how subtly she incorporated animal print into her outfit, yet how important it was to bringing the outfit together.

This Fashionista’s outfit seemed simple until I noticed all of the little, intricate details that totally brought it all together. The standout piece is the mauve, button-up shirt. Not only is this a unique fall color, but the snakeskin pattern really catches the eye. The white wool sweater this Fashionista was rocking is to die for; not only does it look extremely comfy and warm, but the material provides an interesting contrast with the snakeskin top. She keeps it simple on the bottom with black leggings and black velvet boots and adds another touch of detail with her minimalist rings and matching nail polish.

When incorporating animal print into your outfit, it is important to not go overboard. The goal is to add a pop of pattern into your outfit, not to turn into an actual cheetah. This Fashionista does a nice job of doing this by keeping all of the colors and accessories simple and only wearing one patterned clothing item. General rule of thumb: one animal print item per outfit.

Now that we’re getting into late fall, it’s fun to play around with animal patterns like this. Winter is coming, which means a lot of monotone colors and patterns. Intricate details like the details in this Fashionistas outfit are a way to make an outfit more interesting.
