ALL IN THE DETAILS: Stylin’ in Suede

As we hit mid November, I can’t help but notice the hype surrounding the countdown to Christmas. Call me crazy, but the only countdown on my mind right now is for Thanksgiving break.

I find myself salivating in the midst of class while daydreaming about the grand buffet of food awaiting my arrival on Turkey Day, but I will say the countdown to Thanksgiving break is more than just the home-cooked meals. It also means spending quality time with family, Black Friday shopping (duh) and of course the always-anticipated football game against our rival school, Florida State (boo).

To me, there’s not much more I can ask for than a week full of nothing but football, family, food and shopping.

Althoug I still have to get through a few more exams and overnight stays at the library before I can confidently lounge at home in my pajamas for days on end, I’m already looking forward to the much needed stress-free week.

Aside from the ever-so-stylish pajamas I’ll be flaunting for the majority of break, I also plan to recreate some of my favorite fall looks that I’ve spotted this season.

Fall trends have reached its peak, with the most popular trends being suede and skirts—or in this case, a suede skirt. Suede skirts have become favored among celebs like Lauren Conrad and Taylor Swift. They can be found in various styles, including flared, fitted and button-up.

This Fashionista struts some dark suede in a fitting skater skirt. To contrast textures, she paired it with a cropped knitted sweater and a cotton scarf. She concluded the look with some vintage leather booties and dark lips.

How To: Suede skirts are suitable for our warm falls in Florida, but the best part about them is that they’re also highly versatile. If you live in colder climate, add tights or thigh high socks for warmth!
