ALL IN THE DETAILS: Stay Gold, Fashionista

July 6th, 2015 at 2:00am

A peek of lace, a glint of gold and a pop of color can be what ‘makes’ an outfit. Perfectly layered together it is the details in this Fashionista’s look that make her style stand out among the rest. Summer plans in full swing, this look could be worn for a girl’s night out, romantic date or grocery shopping. You go girl—never did anyone look so good in the produce section. You make the apples blush.

The first detail that catches my eye is the layered dainty gold necklace paired with a Free People tank top. The contrast of the high neck black fabric makes the necklace really stand out and shimmer yet doesn’t draw too much attention away from the rest of the look. The gold theme continues with no less than two rings, three bracelets and dare I say it: a FitBit. Not hatin’, fitness will forever be in style.

Her other arm accessories include a gold arm cuff that sits perfectly on her forearm, giving the look an edgy twist. One coral and one turquoise bracelet adorn her wrist, perfectly matching with her bright fun shorts and coral nail polish. Coincidence? No such thing in the style world. A thin gold midi ring and a wide gold band ring are a perfect pair and add a trendy yet elegant element to her look.

Right down to her toes this Fashionista finds ways to add personal details. A twist on the classic black heel, her caged and buckled heels look like a ready-made “selfeet” and are the perfect “dance the night away” heel height.

How To: Find accessories that are made of the same material or color base and layer up. The nice part about delicate and simple jewelry is that it’s hard to overdo it, so bling to your hearts content. Find unexpected pieces that mesh well together like this Fashionista’s colorful beaded bracelets and arm cuff, and prove that accessories are sisters, not twins. Footwear is also a great opportunity to show of your personality through style and you don’t have to kill your feet to do it. Mid-heels are making a comeback and I am a proud activist. Chunky mid-heels sandals can dress up any look without looking too formal, too old, or too kitten-esk. Basically they rock. Still doubt it? Here is another pair that should make you believe.
