ALL IN THE DETAILS: Spring Fever

This weekend I finally finished putting away all my winter coats and boots, as well as completely unpacked the spring and summer items I haven’t seen in months. Crop tops, denim shorts, sandals, flirty skirts and (my personal favorite) floral dresses are now all hanging up in my closet. Floral is still a huge style trend, so I’m thrilled that some of my most loved pieces remain current. Apparently, so is this Fashionista!

She’s wearing a floral dress that exudes cute, but the stiffer fabric paired with her black blazer makes it perfect for business casual events like sorority dinners and mixers. The gray background color of her dress gives the outfit a cooler base tone and prevents an overly themed look. Her beige wedges add texture and height without changing the overall formality of the outfit.

In the accessories department, she stuck to gold tones, which worked as a counterpoint to the gray shades of her outfit. This Fashionista’s Kendra Scott earrings perfectly tie together her outfit and accessories as they’re gold-lined with mint stones. Her Fossil Dean watch has a menswear look and the chunkier silhouette adds a twist to the very feminine ensemble.

How to: I’m sure you’ve all got your own floral dresses to become reacquainted with, but if not there’s plenty of adorable new pieces lining the shelves in every mall. Dress it up with a short jacket or get ready for a date with a light cardigan. Keep all your accessories in the same metal tone, but don’t be afraid to contrast them to the rest of your color palette.
