ALL IN THE DETAILS: Snap, Crackle, POP

A visit to Shanghai, China gave me more than a newfound love for rice. It also brought me to a world of high fashion and opened my eyes to new styles from across the globe. Some of the outfits were similar to what I see every day walking to class, like today’s Fashionista’s, but some were far more eccentric. The pattern mixing was bold to say the least and almost everyone wore heels. Fashion is used as one of the main forms of expression in Shanghai. The people’s voices’ are often silenced, so they use their clothes to make a statement.

While I was walking the streets of Shanghai taking it all in, I stumbled upon this Fashionista who told me she was a jewelry designer. So it only seemed fitting that this article focused on her gorgeous accessories. Her outfit creates the perfect backdrop for her accessories. The all-black really makes her accessories pop!

Her stunning red Imperio Clandestino clutch is my favorite accessory. It’s sleek yet vibrant and it can add that extra oomph to any outfit. The beautiful ring on her right hand is outrageous in the best way. Real or not real, the ring adds a nice touch of class to the ensemble. The Fashionista’s chunky white and black necklace really pulls everything together. The black brings the accessories together with the rest of the outfit and the white breaks up the black perfectly. She finishes off her look with a bright red lip. The red of the lips complements the red of her clutch. The lip color also adds the necessary pop to her natural makeup look.

This Fashionista certainly proves that black never goes out of style, and being bold with your accessories is a must if you want to stand out in the fashion world.

How To: Do you have a bold accessory and have no idea what you should pair it with? Well, everything goes with black. Start by dressing in head to toe neutrals, and then add on the accessories.
