ALL IN THE DETAILS: She’s a Plaid Girl

If the recent shift in weather is telling us anything, then it’s telling us that it’s totally fall. All I have to say is bring on the changing leaves, pumpkin flavored everything and some oh so fabulous fall layers. One of my favorite parts of fall fashion is the never-ending mixture of layers that help us combat the ever-changing fall temperatures. This Fashionista chose one of my favorite layering staples, the plaid button-up. These fabulous tops are honestly one of the most versatile wardrobe staples you can find because they even jump with you from season to season. So when you’re searching for a layering piece to add some pop to your outfit, look no further than your favorite plaid top.

This Fashionista opted for a warmer weather look with her blue and red plaid button-down and some dark wash denim skinny jeans. The color palette of this look screams fall and I am obsessed with it. The brown booties and simple accessories add to this Fashionista’s whole look. This look is very casual while still being extremely put together, proving that plaid can do a lot for a simple outfit. I have to say though, one of my favorite parts of this outfit is her vintage Dooney & Bourke cross-body. The rich tones of the bag pair perfectly with the colors in her top and the brown booties.

One of my favorite things about plaid is not just how versatile it is but how you can find the pattern in any item that fits your style. Of course, there is the traditional laid back flannel version, which is perfect for the decreasing temperatures this time of year, but there are also many other options. Plaid can be found in a number of accessories like fun scarves and also in shirts made of dressier materials to add some extra glam to a traditional fall look. No matter who you are or what type of look you gravitate towards, make it your goal to try out some fun fall plaid this season.

How To: Have a go-to cardigan, jeans and boots look for fall and want to know how to spice it up? No worries take your comfy look and throw on a plaid button-up underneath. This way you are still getting the warmth of your cardigan while adding some fun color and print to your outfit. Head to a pumpkin patch and you will be set for the perfect basic fall photoshoot!
