ALL IN THE DETAILS: Sheer Spring

April 1st, 2015 at 2:00am

Spring Break is sadly over and unfortunately it’s time to head back to class. But that doesn’t mean that our Spring Break fashion has to stop here too. This week’s Fashionista shows us that you can still wear spring trends back to the classroom with interesting details, while still using some of your winter staples.

The details in this week’s Fashionista’s outfit are definitely full of spring/summer trends. The Fashionista’s outfit has dark neutral tones with a pop of color. The dress is heather gray with an easy fit and flare style, but look closely at the mid-section of the dress to find a semi-transparent mesh material. This is definitely a new twist on the popular crop top trend. For accessories, the Fashionista wears a gray fedora with some feather detail, a statement necklace with coral and white flowers and black shoes that resemble those worn in the ‘20s and ‘30s. It’s an outfit that has both new century trends and classic pieces that work well cohesively—all while integrating spring details.

The spring/summer runways were full of florals, fringe and semi-transparent materials. Lots of white too, which is a no-fail option for the season, but gray is a neutral that works just as well with anything. Adding summer trends in a detail form adds interesting depth to any outfit. Keep things simple, add details that are cool yet subtle and you’ll have a great outfit.

How To: A statement necklace in spring tones is a great way to add spring/summer detail to those winter closet staples.
