ALL IN THE DETAILS: Seeing Eye to Eye

It’s time to break out the sunglasses! Staring into the sun or a reflective surface can ruin our eyes—as if this wasn’t known already. It’s easy to block out the sun’s rays by finding a shady tree or awning to stand underneath until it’s time for walking. Or best case scenario, use our hands as a cover. The summer months can be difficult depending where you live or what’s being done and it’s best to try and protect our eyes as often as possible even during a day with overcast.

According to WebMD, “UV radiation can cause harm to the lens and cornea of the eyes.” Over time, this can really mess up your ability to see, which is never good. So when you’re going out and about on your daily tasks, spending time with family or just going through campus doing whatever you need to do, don’t forget to grab a pair before you go!

This Fashionisto went with a pair of Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses with a nice, dark tint. Sunglasses usually come with some type of UV protection and that is what this pair offers. They also help to keep glare and reflective light from coming to the eyes. With a gold frame, brown accent at the ends and signature to top it all off, these sunglasses are great for everyday wear: protective and stylish.

For the rest of his outfit, he wore a burgundy button-down from Macy’s, white slacks from Carson Pirie Scott and black loafers from Coach.

How To: To try and re-create this look, you’ll just need a few things: a button-down shirt of some sort, a pair of nice dress pants and some dress shoes. This is one of many staples that can be pieced together by just seeing what you have in your closet. If you don’t have any items like this however, it’s easy to find similar clothing pieces at a price that won’t leave you feeling weird. Check around your favorite stores and see if you can find a deal as well!
